Community Focused

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the NBNA is to provide a forum for collective action by nurses to investigate, define and advocate for the health care needs of African Americans and to implement strategies that ensure access to health care, equal to, or above health care standards of the larger society.

How We Take Action

What We Do

Our goal is to unite nurses to influence health care services for African American people and to promote the inclusion of African Americans in nursing education and nursing leadership positions.

We provide scholarships to nursing students in our community as well as attending health fairs and community events to provide health education.
